Many employers may shy from hiring older workers. However, the average time on the job is now only 4 years - this levels the playing field for many many candidates whatever their age. Plus, studies show that someone who was healthly at age 50 can expect another 23 years of disability free living. So don't assume that a 64 year-old candidate won't remain on the job as long as that 34 year-old.
